5 Point Starfish - Borage Oil
Borage oil is derived from a wildflower known as Borage, or “Starflower.” It has a long history of both medicinal and culinary use that dates back hundreds of years.
The oil is best known for providing a high level of gamma-linolenic acid (GLA), a fatty acid with strong anti-inflammatory properties. Of the three oils that are good sources of GLA, Blackcurrant seed, Evening Primrose and Borage oil, Borage has the highest concentration of 17 to 25 percent.
GLA is best known for helping to keep the joints and skin healthy. This is just as versatile as all my other products. We grow Borage at our farm and harvest to make this wonderful serum. It tastes and smells of a cool melon cucumber mixture.
Borage is also loaded with macronutrients, including vitamins A and C, niacin, thiamin, riboflavin. choline, and also contains proteins, fiber, minerals and other plant compounds.
I have also added Hempseed oil as it will not clog pores and is a powerful plant-based oil that nurtures and moistures your skin just like Borage oil. I have selected essential oils of Myrrh to add to the mix.
Myrrh lends its anticancer and antibacterial benefits to the concoction. 5 Point starfish is fantastic on your hair, scalp, skin, eyelashes and eyebrows. This can be used as a full body oil, as I enjoy doing. Summer is approaching and we will enjoy pool weather and you will have to pay close attention to rehydrating your skin. 5 Point starfish can help you achieve smoothing and nurturing of the skin during all seasons.
